I recently reviewed several Joy Cowley books thanks to my friends at Hameray Publishing. I've bragged about Hameray books before and am happy to do so again!
Joy Cowley's characters are diverse and that means a lot to me as a reader and a teacher. She writes about characters from different cultures and age groups, amazing make believe characters, and a favorite with my class-animals! She is a master of writing early readers that are interesting to a wide range of students. I'm a fan!
With that, my very favorite character is Mrs. Wishy Washy. I love sharing her with my students and my own son. Hameray is once again hosting a HUGE giveaway and that giveaway includes some Mrs. Wishy Washy treasures!

DeleteIt's so hard to pick a favorite. I will go with Mo Willems and Joy Cowley. I just checked out Springtime Rock and Roll yesterday from the school library!
ReplyDeleteI can't even tell you my love for Mo Willems' books! However, after meeting Joy Cowley I'm in love! She is amazing!
DeleteSo many good choices...I'm going with Kevin Henkes
ReplyDeleteTough question, right!?!?! I love Kevin! (first name basis)
DeleteI am the Book Lady so picking one favorite author is impossible. My favorite read by the pool author is probably Carl Hiassen. My favorite children's author depends on the child and the month. Right now, I am loving Carol Roman and her If You Were Me and Lived In.... series, but I also love being able to read to my 8 year old grandson and the passion we share is the same author as his uncle loved as a little guy, Brian Jacques of the Redwall series.
ReplyDeleteI am going to check out Carol Roman. I've not heard of her works and it sounds like I need to!! Thank you for the recommendation! I work with some 8 year olds too, so I'll look for the Redwall Series, too! It's also new to me! Thanks Book Lady!!
