"No, I've only read the books." Me, with a smile.
"You HAVE GOT TO SEE THE MOVIE." S, in the loudest voice known to man, in the middle of the classroom as my first graders arrive.
That was months ago. Now the DVD is out and guess what? I watched it and I loved it. Even better? I attended a Percy Jackson, Sea of Monsters DVD Release Party!
Now I love a good movie, I love a good event, but more than both of those put together, I love a good cause. At the Percy Jackson, Sea of Monsters DVD Release Party, our whole family participated in quilt making for Project Linus. Get it? We made a golden fleece! Whoever thought of that rocks!
Fox Home Entertainment teamed up with UPS and Project Linus to make and donate 200 (golden fleece!) blankets to Scottish Rite Hospital.
Project Linus was new to me, but I was impressed. They provide blankets to critically ill children, abused children, and children who lose a parent serving in the military. Amazing.
I should mention this event was held at the beautiful Georgia Aquarium. Making quilts for children, with my family, with this view-well, it was pretty awesome.
If you have a gift card from the holidays or just want a treat, buy this movie. It is great for family movie night (rated PG) and there is even a 30% discount with code GIFT! I love a deal! Are you a Percy Jackson fan? Book or movie?
